While I am by no means a search engine expert (just ask Google), I have been learning fast. The one thing that I am finding is: correctly optimized pages with relevant inbounds links with good anchor text do well for me.
I always enjoy reading the PageRank vs. SEO debates. I just got done reading an article over at Mainstream Webmasters in which the author said,
Whether you believe in SEO or Page Rank and wonder which is more important, your thinking is irrelevant. You are wasting your time in wondering what is the correct answer to that question, since even if you knew it, there is little you could do to use that information.
It’s worth a read as he actually did a test with a properly optimized page with few inbound links and a non optimized page with many inbound links. If you read the article, you will realize that by just me linking to it helps prove his point.
