How we present our information to consumers is equally as important as the content itself. I was reading an article from one of my favorite webmaster resources, Mainstream Web Masters, on just that topic. According to the article,
What do you hate most about websites? If you browse websites as much as we do, then there is a lot to hate. Because there are so many terribly designed, user non-friendly websites on the Internet today, we have put together this short but detailed list of things to hate about web design. In addition to compiling this list, we’ve also provided a solution for each of the problems.
What did they find as the most common mistakes?

1Interesting, but I am going to disagree with the Image Text: A Big No No.
Frankly the concept of SEO is to have UNIQUE content on each page. In that concept, repeating a phrase can be troublesome in SEO. Something that appears on every page can reduce your ‘exclusive/original’ content quota, so an image using that text can supplant that. It also insures a uniform appearance, and can be a linking tool as well.

2I agree with you now that I have though about it.
However, I think this article shows the conflict between designers and SEO.
IMHO, I just wish that porn sites would have SOME form of hierarchy!

3Porn or mainstream, designers and SEO people constantly clash, because I think basically we just want it all done for us. We want to make a web page easy, to toss up the free sites, the FHG’s, instead of making them all unique.
Sure we all want to keep the design flowing throughout the site, but we just want plug ‘n play which is also why blogs have become so popular. They don’t require work, or thinking, or so many believe.
I feel a rant coming
